The next time I post I’ll be “Celeste Laurent Harned!”
The wedding I’ve been blogging about for almost a year is only four days away and I’ve spent the past two weeks tying up all the loose ends and finishing my many “do-it-yourself” projects for it.
While I was drowning in all things wedding, I neglected to post at all last week. So here’s what you missed in the life of the farm girl:
I graduated college!
On May 14, I donned the classic cap and gown became an alumna of Western Kentucky University.
After four long years, I am so proud to have completed a B.S. in Agriculture and a B.A. in Journalism and still graduate with honors!
What’s next? The wedding!
The day after graduation, I packed up my college apartment and moved into the house that will be mine and Aaron’s home after the wedding.
Though I’m starting to unpack and settle in, my home office is still out of commission because its storing all our wedding decorations.
Last night, I finished the last of the stationary and floral arrangements.
Yes, I really did all of the floral arrangements, reception decor, invitations and programs myself.
Well, that’s a bit of an exaggeration. I couldn’t have done it without the help of family and friends.
My wonderful future sister-in-law made the bridesmaids’ necklaces and earrings and a family friend helped out with corsages and bouquets.
Even Aaron helped with the floral arrangements, though he wouldn’t allow me to snap any photos of him being what I like to call “super groom.”
I’m so lucky to have a great photographer who appreciates all the long hours I’ve put into all the wedding decor and promises to snap lots of photos of the finished product so I can share it with all of you!
Saturday will be life changing.
I’ll have a new family, a new byline and go from farm girl to farm wife.
One thing won’t be changing, though.
When we get back from our honeymoon, Aaron and I will go right back to sharing the stories of the hardworking people who produce our food.
Don’t you worry, this blog isn’t going anywhere!

Congratulations Celeste on Graduating! I know great things are about to come from you. Best of luck to you and Aaron this weekend and I wish you both a lifetime of love and laughter.
