Celeste Laurent Harned is a family farmer, restaurant wife, graphic designer, photographer and speaker.
Celeste was raised on a family beef cattle and show pig farm in Western Kentucky. Even as a child, Celeste knew that she wanted to make a career in agriculture.
She began chasing that dream by becoming active in 4-H and FFA, organizations she credits with igniting her passion for sharing the stories of farm families. A 2011 graduate of Western Kentucky University, Celeste holds Bachelor’s Degrees in both Agriculture and Journalism.
In 2009, Celeste established Celeste Communications, a freelance communications service that combines her journalism experience with her love of agriculture and farm life.
Celeste has worked as a writer, photographer and graphic designer for agriculture groups across the country. Some of her notable clients include the FFA New Horizons Magazine, Michigan State University and the Kentucky FFA Association.
Celeste lives in West Kentucky with her husband Aaron and two children, where they are the 4th and 5th generations (respectively) to serve “The South’s Best Bar-B-Q” at Harned’s Drive-In.
This blog is Celeste’s personal soapbox where she advocates for family farms just like the one she grew up on. Any ranting or raving is her own and does not reflect the opinions of any of her clients.
