My what a year it has been.
Aaron handed me the most beautiful, fat, pink bundle of blankets I’d ever seen and I fell more in love with the both of them than I ever thought possible.
Its been a long year but at the same time it has flown by. Its been a stressful one. A rewarding one.
A year full of love and laughter, late nights and early mornings.
I’ve watched Lorelei become a little person full of energy, personality and stubbornness (who knows where she got that from?)
Lorelei has been the number one reason why this blog has been neglected this year.
I constantly told myself that many of my readers were parents and they would understand. I guess if you’re reading this then that’s probably true.
I’ve thought a lot about how to document the past year on my blog. Instead of trying to capture it in words, I’ve decided to let my photographs narrate the story.
Besides, it’s a lot cuter that way!
Lorelei loves being outdoors and even when it was 20 degrees outside she would light up as soon as we stepped outside.
I think she’s as excited about spring as her Daddy is!
She loves hog shows and is fascinated by pigs.
Her Laurent aunts and uncles are ready for her to start walking so she can start learning how to show a pig.
She absolutely loves her cousins.
I like to think she enjoys playing with Aaron and I but it definitely doesn’t compare to how excited she gets to play with other kids.
Whether they’re reading to her, tickling her, teaching her to crawl or sweet talking some ice cream out of their granddaddies at the restaurant, she seldom stops smiling when she’s around them.
Her aunts and uncles are the same way. It has been amazing watching her form individual relationships with each of them.
They’ll all agree that right now Uncle Daniel is her favorite.
These two are as thick as thieves and I can only imagine what they’ll get into once Lorelei is walking!
I wouldn’t be doing this justice if I left out her grandparents.
Its been so fun for me to watch my parents become grandparents and see how Aaron’s parents have developed a unique relationship with each of their four granddaughters.
I am so thankful that she gets to see all four of her grandparents so often (even though that means she gets spoiled more often!)
Its hard to believe its been a year. In some ways it feels like she’s been here forever but in others it feels like she should still be my little baby.
I don’t know if I’ll ever cease to be amazed at how fast she’s growing up or the beautiful little girl she’s becoming.
I know I should have written more this year but I wouldn’t have traded any of these moments for an extra blog post.
